International Urban Wildlife Conference 2019 – See you there?

The 2019 International Urban Wildlife Conference will take place in Portland, Oregon from June 2nd-5th. This meeting is a great chance to connect with other scientists studying urban evolution and hear about the wide range of research that is being conducted in urban environments. Talk submission has already closed, but registration is open until May 26. Some of the session topics are:

  • urban coyotes
  • urban bats
  • cats and wildlife
  • urban deer
  • urban habitat connectivity
  • urban raptors and other birds
  • pollinators, insects, and mussels
  • the LA urban mammal project
  • planning, policy, and management
  • human-wildlife interactions

You can check out the full schedule of talks and posters here (be sure to click on the tabs at the bottom to view all the days). Plus, LITC contributor Dr. Christopher Schell will be one of the plenary speakers!

If you are already planning on attending this meeting, please consider becoming an LITC contributor. We ask our contributors at meetings to summarize talks and posters so that those who are unable to attend in person can still learn about the exciting new research being presented. Posts from the 2019 SICB meeting helped those that couldn’t make it to Tampa, Florida learn about how ants cope with high urban temperatures, how road salts affect Monarch Butterful life history and many other topics. If you have questions or you’re interested in joining the LITC team as a contributor, send Kristin an email to get the details.
