A medium-sized mammalian predator seems like an odd find in cities, but around the world sightings of urban coyotes, bobcats, and even mountain lions are becoming more common. Setting up a camera trap also known as a trail camera is a great way to spot these urban animals. A camera trap is a camera that is activated to record video or take a picture every time something within frame moves.
And thanks to a camera trap set up in the backyard of twitter user @pekingfrog we are able to see some fantastic footage of a Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) and her pups living in Essex.
This year's fox cubs have dispersed now. One makes the occasional visit. I was very privileged to have got this type of footage on a garden trail cam .. real nature 🦊 pic.twitter.com/cedtG6gGSS
